TPAC’s Wolf Trap program applies the natural teaching tools of the arts towards the development goals of early childhood. Preschool children thrive when learning is playful, active, and fun. Our teaching artists bring engaging arts activities to the classroom that strengthen social, emotional and academic growth in young children.
Through the program, early childhood teachers increase their knowledge of arts strategies, including the arts as part of their teaching practice and utilizing their effectiveness for preschool learning. Each arts discipline aligns with skills and understanding that children need.

- Theatre expands imagination and communication.
- Puppetry encourages social interactions and self-confidence.
- Storytelling fosters emerging literacy that prepare students for reading.
TPAC partners with the Metropolitan Action Commission’s Head Start Program, with Metro Nashville Public Schools Early Learning Centers, and with local independent preschools and child centers. Our Nashville Wolf Trap program aligns with the Tennessee Early Learning Development Standards (ELDS) and the National Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.

Nashville Wolf Trap is an affiliate of the Wolf Trap Institute for the Performing Arts outside of Washington DC.
